Ingredients

1 lb ground chicken

1 cup fresh spinach, finely chopped

1/2 cup white cheddar cheese, grated

1/4 cup breadcrumbs (panko or regular)

1 clove garlic, minced

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking)

4 whole wheat burger buns

Optional toppings: avocado slices, tomato, lettuce, and additional cheddar cheese

Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, chopped spinach, grated white cheddar, breadcrumbs, minced garlic, onion powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, and salt.

Mix the ingredients thoroughly using your hands or a spatula until well combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this can make the burgers tough.

Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into burger patties, about 1/2 inch thick.

Heat a large skillet or grill pan over medium heat and add olive oil.

Once the oil is hot, carefully place the chicken patties in the pan. Cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the burgers are golden brown.

If you like, add a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty in the last minute of cooking and cover with a lid to melt the cheese.

Remove the burgers from the skillet and let them rest for a couple of minutes.

Toast the whole wheat burger buns in the skillet for added crunch, if desired.

Assemble your burgers by placing the patties on the buns and adding your choice of toppings such as avocado, tomato, and lettuce.

                    Serve immediately and enjoy!
