Ingredients

1 lb ground beef or turkey

1 packet taco seasoning

1/2 cup water

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1 package (1 lb) refrigerated pizza dough

1/2 cup salsa

1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)

Fresh cilantro (for garnish, optional)

Sour cream (for serving, optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.

Cook the Meat: In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef or turkey until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat, then add the taco seasoning and water. Stir well and simmer until thickened, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

Prepare the Dough: Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick. Cut the dough into long strips, roughly 2 inches wide.

Assemble the Sticks: Take one strip of dough and spoon about 1-2 tablespoons of the taco meat mixture onto the center. Sprinkle a mix of cheddar and mozzarella cheese over the meat. Fold the dough over to enclose the filling, press the edges to seal, and place it seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Repeat with remaining strips.

Egg Wash: Brush the tops of the taco sticks with the beaten egg to give them a golden finish when baked.

Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the sticks are golden brown and crispy.

Serve: Allow the cheesy taco sticks to cool slightly, then serve with salsa, optional sour cream, and sprinkle with fresh cilantro for garnish.
